Anyone here ever made their 300's trackwidth wider by removing the original spindles from inside the frame and attached em back, on outside of the frame ?
Looking for bit improved ability to turn, and using skis/leaf springs/schocks from model 4000.
Widening the trackwidth of Ockelbo 300
Re: Widening the trackwidth of Ockelbo 300
Have not heard of anyone doing it like that. But there was brackets to mount between the spindle and leafspring on the ski, that gave couple of centimeters on each side.

Yea, ive used such "spacers" in old Yamaha 1-cyl SL but it changes the steering a bit awkward. My 300 will need bit of straightening and welding on its frames front area and ive thought that it would be good moment to try to truly widen the track width at same effort. I need to measure how much the spindles need to be "pulled away" from inside the frame, to get em fully out so that i dont need to carve any big holes in the hood but instead just enough for the steering arm and rod to clear.
