Holy crank, sweeet! ..or more preferable, MEAN!

Wellcome to this forum, iceman 8)
Im not really into dragracing but still the (Doo)sleds are awsome. I assume that you dont have time for vintage sleds when you are building those rockets? Wish you good luck!

Thanks sleed. Actually, I am mainly into vintage stuff. I just go these sleds once in a while for fun.

I have a question for you guys. Do you have much of this type of racing over there? Modified drag race, speed/radar run machines?

Here is a link to some with some information & speeds from one organization over here.

I know about the sno-X series but nothing else. Anyhow, drag and speed runs are way more popular in US, still. Here i think most people ride just for fun (like myself) But the interest for vintage sleds has increased rapidly over the last 3 years. Today you bid on parts that could be found at the scrap yard last year.

How does your vintage sled lineup look like? *curious*

In my garage you will find 2x blizzard 9500, 1x5500 and a not so vintage machz 1000 turbo

Thank you iceman. The -79 blizz 5500 was actually purchased new by my father when I was born so I guess thats why Im totally stuck on doo's and blizzards.

The vintage sled collection of yours is the most impressive I have ever heard of. How is it possible to find and buy that amout of sleds? You have people working for you or what? how many sled have you restored on your own? I cant imagine you have restored all those sleds yourself unless you are 350 years old?

Is it too much to ask for a picture of that 71 Moto Ski Capri? or at least a link to it.

Sleed,
These are sleds my father & I have been collecting for many years. He used to race for Arctic Cat many years ago. Some have been in our family since new. The only 2 sleds we have bought already restored are the Formula II and the Merc Sno Twister.

Some of them are not restored to 100% showroom condition, they are just riders. Some we race & some we show. We each try to restore one sled per year, depending on how much work they need. Some take up to three years. Most of them we have given to us or buy them from junk yards or build from parts.

I will post pictures of most of them if you would like on a different thread. What forum is the best to post them on?

Thanks for your interest. I enjoy this board very much, many very different sleds from what we have over here and many very nice people I have met on here. Thank you for letting a American with very bad Swedish skills visit.

Sleed, you did not seem rude at all. This is my hobby, my relaxation. I spend many hours but not many dollars to restore them. I spend many hours in my shop doing this for fun.

I don't have a lot of money but we do the best we can with what we have. I enjoy taking a piece of junk & restoring it and then putting many, many miles on it, or racing it, or taking it to a show. These are my rewards.

Thanks

Got to run the sled this weekend. Track was Very, very bad! Several racers crashed or rolled their sleds. One of our friends went to the hospital, he is OK just bumps & bruises. We got first place in both out classes so that was good.

Bild

The end of the track was deep snow, the ice ran out about 300' out and then it was deep snow. On my last run, the sled plowed into the snow on shutdown & spun all the way around. Scary ride.
