Team Arctic EXT

This sled was raced by the factory Team Arctic in 1973. My father bought it from Arctic Cat in 74 minus the engine. He installed a 795 Polaris engine & rode it for a few years. He then removed the motor & sold the sled. A few years ago he decided to try to find it. It had three owners since him & was in rough shape. He bought it back, collected up the parts & he and I restoed it. It took us 33 days from start to finish. I did fiberglass work, paint, decals, cosmetic work. He rebuilt the engine, carbs ignition, built a track, & most of the mechanical work.

The sled was restored to an "as raced" condition so there are many things that have been modified from a production machine. The tunnel is somewhat rough, many holes drilled for different suspensions but that is the way he got it from Arctic Cat & is original.

When Arctic Cat built the 73 EXT, they were built to be lightweight & fast. The tunnels were thin & would crack & break on rough or long tracks. The Arctic race department built 5 or 6 special sleds for their drivers. These sleds were built from 72 EXT chassis with 73 engines and hoods. This one was driven by Larry Coltom.
